Behind the Style

Rejuvenated creator with a love of Funk music and comic books. I worked in the Printing industry as a Desktop Artist for 17 years. A crucial moment in my artistic growth was the moment a comic book was placed in my hands at the age of 6 yrs. old by a friend of my dads who had just come home from a tour of duty in the U.S. Army. It was an old DC Sgt. Rock comic and a Donald Duck Disney/Dell comic. I became hooked at that moment, forever fascinated by the combination of words and colorful pictures. Another crucial moment in my artistic journey was the first time I heard a James Brown record. Man, that's when I became hooked on The Funk, That was just the beginning as I watched the evolution of the Funk in its various incarnations and spin offs from Bootsy's Rubber Band to Sly and The Family Stone(although Sly himself was actually one of the chief funky innovators!) to Rick James and Stone City Band.
